Conventions Right, the last con of 2004 is over, so now we only have another year of events in 2005 to focus on! Details below... Warpcon XV will be taking place in University College Cork from the 21st - 23rd of January 2005. The website is still showing last year's info (at least at time of writing), but we do know that the WARPS crowd are preparing a full weekend of games for all the lucky attendees.
Dates have now been announced for Leprecon XXVI. The con will take place in Trinity College, Dublin on the 25th - 27th of February 2005. The website goes live on the first day of 2005. We do have dates for Dominicon 2005. The con will take place in NUI Maynooth on the 11th to the 13th of March 2005. In a wonderful piece of planning it would now appear that Itzacon Eire will be happening on the same weekend on the other side of the country. The con will be taking place in NUI Galway over the weekend of the 11th to the 13th of March 2005. Sillicon has particularly good dates this year as the con is scheduled to take place in DCU on the 1st to the 3rd of April. The website should have updates soon. College exams have generally guaranteed that May is a quiet month and this year is no different. The next con after Sillicon will be Vaticon XI in UCD on the 11th and 12th of June. The con is due to take place in the Student Centre in UCD. Towards the end of June we have Q-con XII. The con will take place in Queens University, Belfast on the 24th, 25th and 26th of June 2005. CONFESS 2005 is due to take place in the Clarion Hotel in Sligo on the 24th and 25th of September 2005. Gaelcon 2005 is happening as late as it possibly can this year. The event is back in Clontarf Castle in Dublin and it takes place on the 29th to the 31st of October.
